Gate only supports delivery futures that are settled in USDT (UDST-M).
Similar to perpetual futures, the holders of delivery futures can choose to go long or short. As long as they move in the same direction as the market, profit will come. But there's a settlement date for the delivery futures so they cannot be held for long.
Gate only supports the following delivery futures
The PnL for a USDT-M delivery future is calculated using the same formula as for UDST contract of perpetual futures.
PnL = Position Size x Contract Multiplier x (Exit Price – Entry Price )
Contract multiplier can be checked in the Contract Details.
Note
- If the delivery futures are closed by the user before the settlement day, the exit price shall be the fill price.
- If the delivery futures are settled by the system on the settlement day, the exit price shall be the settlement price.
- Trading fee is not considered in the above calculations.
Take BTC_USDT0924·Seasonal as an example
According to the Contract Details, the contract multiplier is 0.0001 BTC, the entry price is 36416.75 USDT, and assuming that the settlement price or the exit price is 37316.23 USDT.
So the PnL for the delivery contract is
-1000 x 0.0001 x ( 37316.23 - 36416.75 ) = - 89.948 USDT
That is, the user suffers a loss of 89.948 USDT.
