NEW: A report from Renmin University suggests China should reduce its massive foreign exchange reserves, including US Treasuries, to a “moderately ample” level as it pushes for greater global use of the yuan.



The study argues that as the yuan matures internationally, China may no longer need to hold excessive foreign assets, with the currency increasingly serving as a global medium of settlement and store of value.
