$BTC In the crypto world, many people ask: how much money do I need to invest to turn things around? My answer has always been clear: start with $10,000. Some people think that's too conservative, and even say that turning $10,000 into $100,000 by 10x isn't enough. But I've seen too many people who, believing that larger capital means faster turnarounds, end up losing their entire principal and have nothing left to recover with.
I have a friend who runs a business. Last year, hearing about opportunities in crypto, he directly invested $500,000. I advised him to test the waters with smaller capital first, but he dismissed my concerns, thinking that if he could succeed in business, trading crypto would be no problem. But he didn't even understand candlestick charts before directly opening a 20x leverage position. At first, luck was on his side with small gains, and his confidence became extremely inflated. But when the market reversed, within minutes he lost tens of thousands. Unwilling to accept it, he chose to hold losing positions and add to them against the trend. In less than two months, his $500,000 principal was reduced to just $60,000.
The root cause is that losses in crypto are calculated proportionally. Losing 50% on $10,000 is just $5,000, which doesn't affect daily life and allows you to maintain a steady mindset. But losing 50% on $500,000 means losing $250,000—the enormous pressure makes people anxious and impulsive, losing rationality. Decisions made in such a state are usually wrong.
Therefore, I recommend everyone start with $10,000. There are two core reasons. First, the cost of failure is extremely low. Even if you lose it all, it won't affect your daily expenses, allowing you to calmly learn the rules and refine your technique. The barrier to entry in crypto has never been about the size of your capital, but whether you can survive in the market. Second, it tests your real abilities. If you can't even achieve stable breakeven or slight profits with $10,000, it means you haven't fully grasped the market yet. At that point, the larger your capital, the faster your losses will mount.
Achieving a turnaround in crypto depends on matching your ability with your capital, not recklessly increasing your investment. People who truly go far are those who first use small capital to perfect their trading system, learn to judge trends, control leverage, and restrain themselves. Only after achieving stable profits do they gradually increase their position size. Going all-in from the start, even if you profit through luck, you'll eventually lose it back through lack of skill. If you don't know how to start with $10,000, you can reference live trading records, learn from reliable strategies, practice stop-losses, and maintain emotional stability. Do solid work with small capital, and when major opportunities come, you'll truly be able to seize them.#Gate13周年全球庆典
